A popular Marlow based curry house has recently won a prize at this year’s Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) Awards.
Held at the Westminster Park Plaza Hotel on October 27, The Golden Tiger who are located on West Street, came out on top in the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire region of the Restaurant of the Year category.
The restaurant’s owner, Abdul Rob, was given the award by Keith and Paula Chamberlain who have been loyal customers since Mr. Rob’s first-ever restaurant, Megna Tandoori, which opened in Marlow back in 1987.
The ceremony was presented by news presenter Tasmin Lucia-Khan and actor Alexis Conran.
Speaking after the success, Mr. Rob told the Bucks Free Press: “I didn’t know that the restaurant was going to win so it was a wonderful feeling to hear The Tiger Garden get called out.
“We’ve had so many great customers over the years so we would like to thank them for their support too.”
Mr. Rob has been in the curry industry since 1983, which has enabled his restaurant to win many awards.
Some of the accolades include winning the ‘Highly Commended Best South Asian Restaurant in South East of London’ at the Asian Curry Awards in 2013 and ‘Outstanding Restaurateur’ in 2010.
