Mr Malik was born in Moulvibazar Districts of Bangladesh in 1941 and migrated to the UK in 1964, where he established his first restaurant in Manchester. Since then he has opened further restaurants in the country, including the Star of India in 1972 and Blue Bengal in 1989.
His is currently the Senior Vice President of the BCA and President of the Surrey Region. He is also the current Director of the British Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce.
As a businessman, Mr Malik is the Sponsor Director of Progressive Life Assurance Company in Bangladesh, Chairman of Momtaz Diagnostic and Medical Centre in Komlapur (Dhaka), Chairman of Malik and Sons food processing company in Moulivibazar, Director of Sarina CNG Petrol Station in Ghazipur (Dhaka), and owner-manager of a real estate property business in the UK and Bangladesh
His social and community contribution includes President of Surrey Bangladeshi Welfare Association, committee member on Sutton Council’s Race and Religion Forum, and member of Epsom & Ewell Islamic Society.
